Scripture memory: We are starting to go through the Scripture memory system Treasuring God’s Truth in Your Heart. The first 18 verses in this system deal with attributes of God. This week we will be looking at God’s sovereignty:

God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.” (Acts 17.24-25)

Scripture reading and meditation: Mark 9

Book Reading: Chapters 1 and 2 (pp.8-23) of The Cross-Centered Life

These are the things which we should be working on during the week from May 28th to June 3rd. Last week we met to choose a book to go through over the summer months.  We decided upon The Cross-Centered Life by CJ Mahaney, and so next Wednesday, June 10th, we will start our summer trek through this small but powerful piece.  In the meantime this week will be spent discussing the Mark 8 passage that we are to read through this week.

Scripture memory: We are starting to go through the Scripture memory system Treasuring God’s Truth in Your Heart. The first 18 verses in this system deal with attributes of God. This week we will be looking at God’s unchangeability:

“ Of old You laid the foundation of the earth,
         And the heavens
are the work of Your hands.
 They will perish, but You will endure;
         Yes, they will all grow old like a garment;
         Like a cloak You will change them,
         And they will be changed.
 But You
are the same,
         And Your years will have no end
.” (Psalm 102.25-27)

Scripture reading and meditation: Mark 8

One thing I have desired of the LORD,
         That will I seek:
         That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
         All the days of my life,
         To behold the beauty of the LORD,
         And to inquire in His temple
.” (Psalm 27.4)

For the earth will be filled
      With the knowledge of the glory of the LORD,
      As the waters cover the sea
.” (Habakkuk 2.14)

If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
     If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
